Panorama Mountain Resort in British Columbia, Canada is a destination ski resort offering guests downhill skiing, snowboarding, cross country skiing, ski lodging, dining, and so much more. It’s regularly hailed as the most complete ski-in/ski-out resort in the Canadian Kootenay Rockies. For that reason and many many more it makes for a fantastic place to head for a winter working holiday in Canada.
Panorama boasts one of the premier ski fields in North America with a 4000ft vertical and an average 5m base throughout the season. With over 1200 hectares of skiable terrain, Panorama offers some of Canada’s longest groomed fall-line cruisers and legendary ‘backcountry style’ riding in Taynton Bowl. With up to 120+ named runs (55% of which are considered intermediate) and 10 high speed chairlifts, there is genuinely something for everyone. If it’s your first time on the slopes – no problem because there is a dedicated discovery zone for beginners. For seasoned vets – there are two backcountry areas, that are avalanche controlled. You can get your fix of mega-long runs that chew through vertical and have your legs burning by the time you reach the bottom. It truly is the complete package for a working holiday maker!
Panorama Resort Life
What about when you come down off the hill and are killing for something to do? You’ve got a chance to enjoy the pools, hot tubs, water slides, saunas and spa treatments in winter. Warmer weather encourages golfing at Greywolf Golf Course, cross-country and downhill mountain biking, tennis, rafting, hiking, and cycling. A few highlights would be watching the sunset from the deck of the Elkhorn Cabin, lazing in the sun on the deck of the summit hut and even travelling into the high alpine in convoy upon a snowmobile. It’s all possible to give a go on your working holiday in Canada!
Unlike some resorts, Panorama isn’t nearly as isolated as others can be. Although it does have everything you need packaged up nicely (a job, a place to stay, food, drink, things to do), Invermere is only 20 minutes down the road. So, if you’d like to get out of the dreamstate resort and back to reality you can. Truth be told, although there is limited staff housing at the resort, quite a few Work Canada Winter Jobs participants end up living in Invermere. It’s a little bit removed from the resort but still has a lot going on with locals, nightlife and eateries. So you get the best of both worlds!
Restaurants and Bars
The seasonal restaurants and bars at Panorama and nearby Invermere are excellent. There is a diverse range of culinary choices both on and off the mountain. Feeling fancy? You best believe there are some fine dining options. If it’s pub fare you’re after that is most certainly covered (its a mountain resort…). Ever had fondue atop the rocky mountains? It’s all possible at Panorama on your Canadian Working Holiday.
It’s no secret that Panorama is one of the top resorts in Canada, North America and the world – we send a tonne of Kiwi’s and Aussies there every year. But if its affirmation you need that Pano is the right option for you – rest assured, you’re just about guaranteed to have a phenomenal time living and working there. The full-package resort has something for everyone. “For some it’s the adventure. For others it’s the solace. There’s those who stay here to get away from it all. And there are those who visit because everything is here”. You really can’t beat that for a description! If that sounds like something you’d be keen on getting involved with – sign up to our Work Canada Winter Jobs program. We can get you an interview with Panorama, or any other employer on our books to be hired for the upcoming winter season in Canada!
